Council approval first. Then we handled the work.

The customer contacted their local authority and applied for a dropped kerb. Once the council had inspected the site and confirmed the proposed crossing could go ahead, the customer sent us the paperwork.

We supplied our NRSWA street works qualification and SWQR registration details to the council and obtained Section 171 permission for the highway works before starting.

Planning your own entrance? Start with Leeds City Council’s vehicle-crossing application guidance. Once your initial application is approved, we can help with the contractor paperwork and installation.

Out with the old concrete ramps.

The existing concrete ramps and footpath surface were removed. This opened up the crossing so we could prepare the foundations and sub-base for the new entrance.

Built from the ground up.

We prepared the foundation and sub-base, then installed new dropped kerbs and transition kerbs to the council specification for this crossing.

With the kerbs in place, we laid the tarmac base and surface courses, finished the joins and cleaned everything down.

Who applies for dropped kerb permission in Leeds?

Can Heritage install the driveway and dropped kerb?

Yes. This Leeds project combines our Premia 60 Granite Stone block paving with a new dropped kerb and tarmac crossing. We can quote for both, with the highway work subject to council approval.

How much does a dropped kerb cost?

We quote for your entrance after assessing the crossing width, existing construction and site conditions. Send your postcode, entrance photographs and any council paperwork so we can advise on the next step and explain what is included.
