Planning your driveway
Planning your block paving driveway.
Heritage Paving & Landscaping is based in Pudsey and installs block paving driveways across Leeds and the surrounding areas. Whether you are replacing a tired driveway or planning a new parking area, we quote for the paving and the preparation needed underneath it. Your free site visit is the starting point for choosing a layout, discussing drainage and agreeing the work.
Replacing an existing driveway
A driveway replacement starts with checking the existing surface, access and ground conditions. We assess what needs removing, how the new driveway will meet paths and entrances, and where rainwater will go. Excavation, waste removal, the sub-base, edging and the chosen blocks are set out in your written quote.
If you want to alter the shape of your driveway, include a front path or add steps, mention this at the site visit so the whole entrance can be considered together.
Choosing blocks, colours and borders
Tumbled blocks give a more textured finish, while a cleaner-edged block can suit a contemporary entrance. Grey, charcoal, brindle and warmer blends create different looks against brickwork, stone and planting. A contrasting border can define the driveway and link it with paths or steps.
Our block paving styles and colours guide shows the options. We can discuss the block range, layout and edging alongside the size and use of your driveway.
Ground preparation and driveway drainage
The finished blocks are only part of a driveway installation. Ground preparation, a compacted sub-base and secure edging all matter to how the surface performs. Levels and drainage also need considering before the blocks are laid.
At the site visit we assess the proposed layout and drainage needs. Your quote identifies drainage work and recessed covers where required, so these details are considered with the paving.
